Black Bean Brownies: A Guilt-Free Treat You’ll Actually Crave

There’s something about a fudgy brownie that feels like pure indulgence—until you find out it’s made with black beans… and still tastes incredible. These protein-rich Black Bean Brownies are one of our favorite 8PM snacks at The Farm, and once you try them, you’ll understand why.


They're naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and flourless—yet full of fiber, protein, and real chocolate flavor. You won’t believe what’s not in them.

🍫 Black Bean Brownie Bites

Serving Size: 1 mini brownie bite

Yields: 12–16 bites using a mini muffin pan

Macros (1 brownie): 140–150 kcal | 8–10g protein | 10–12g carbs


What You’ll Need:

  • 2 (15 oz) cans black beans (drained & rinsed)

  • 6 large eggs

  • 4 Tbsp vegetable, canola, or coconut oil

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ⅔ cup agave nectar or sugar-free maple syrup

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup Lily’s GF, LF semi-sweet chocolate chips or dairy-free chips


This recipe is gluten-free, lactose-free, and dairy-free. Can be made nut-free by avoiding coconut oil.


How to Make Them:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Add all ingredients except chocolate chips to a food processor. Blend until completely smooth.

  3. Remove the blade and stir in chocolate chips.

  4. Spray a mini muffin pan with baking spray (or use mini cupcake liners).

  5. Scoop 2 oz of batter into each section (should yield 12–16 brownie bites).

  6. Bake for 10–15 minutes, until edges are set and centers barely jiggle.

  7. Let cool before removing from pan.


For gooey brownies: remove while center still jiggles.

For firmer brownies: bake until a toothpick comes out cakey (but not fully clean).
